NEKO at IAM Gallery - One Name Army.

Neko has been hitting Madrid really hard for as long as many can remember. The guy has skills and definitely has been put in enough work to gain not only notoriety but walls in galleries like IAM and VAVA. He has an upcoming show, check out the trailer...

Inspiring.

Hope we can go to Detroit at some point soon...

Graphotism gone?

A great magazine that has been keeping many writers in the loop with top notch interviews, great walls and just an all around great graffiti magazine. It looks like its going to close, their website is down and there has been no recent activity on twitter... Rumor has it that they simply cannot keep up.

Seems like this is happening in many places due to the crisis... Graphotism, you had a great run!

Detroit Beautification Project.

Detroit once upon a time was a city that lived off the motor industry, the current recession and crisis has changed this city drastically; abandoned buildings, crime rates going up, and migration of about a third of the population in the last few years are only some of these changes.

The buildings, and terrain of Detroit, have now sparked interest in young artists and entrepreneurs, as they see the opportunity of starting up something great. Revok (www.revok1.com) began one particular project, the Detroit Beautification Project which has brought some of the finest urban artists to pitch in and paint otherwise dull and destroyed walls...

All you need to know about graffiti is in this book.

The internet is full of pretty interesting stuff, stumbling upon this made my day. Simple, VERY simple. No explanation needed. The author of this magnificent book is Benoit Olive, a 22 year old french graphic designer.

Stay High 149

Stay High's passing has been heard all over. He marked a whole generation with his simple-yet perfect- handstyles and his stick figure, he was more than "the voice of the ghetto", he was more like the voice of graffiti.

He disappeared for 25 years but came back with tremendous force, painting and scribbling once again his alias, one to be proud of. Our thoughts go out to his friends and family. He will be missed

Stay tuned for a tribute from FTW.

Rime: character amongst characters
